On DeMark Lodge March 1st Update

Hello everyone! We'd like to welcome all of our new friends from The Fly Fishing Shows in Bellevue and Pleasanton. It was great being able to see all of you and have great conversations.

Just wanted to give you a quick update. We've had some great winter weather in February. Great to see those snowpack numbers bumping up. The Missouri will be in great shape this year as Canyon Ferry is sitting at a little over 80% capacity right now with spring runoff on the way.

We have our state of the rivers and reservoirs meeting with Montana FWP and Trout Unlimited in Great Falls this week. We'll be relaying those highly anticipated fish count and health numbers to you next week.

In between snow and windstorms there's some pretty good fishing right now. Nymphing in the deep, slower water is very effective. Swinging leeches and small streamers on the faster shelfs is working for the spey guys as well. If you are patient, you'll find some surface activity on midges and Baetis in the warmer afternoons. There's always something going on the Mo.

We have another show in Salt Lake in March. Other than that we'll be busy getting the lodge ready for April and fishing. Enjoy your weekend! Make sure to check back in next week for those trout numbers.
